Mining in NWO

Welcome to the” Mining in Northwestern Ontario”  website. Northwestern Ontario is a strong contributor to Canada’s gold mining industry, producing 19 % of Canada’s gold in 2015! With 4 new gold mines being developed in the next 4 years, that percentage will grow. The region also produces palladium and has a number of major exploration projects advancing.

The Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission, Lakehead University and Confederation College have partnered for the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada Annual Convention. We invite you to visit us at Booth 946, South Building of the Trade Show!

Links contained on the website contain information on mine service and supply, major exploration programs, training, research, and education, which may assist you with your projects!
