Co-op Student Placement Opportunity - Therapeutic Recreation Assistant - Dawson Court

GENERAL DUTIES:
Assist Recreation and Restorative Care staff with programs such as:
- Large and small groups to enhance residents leisure needs
- 1:1 recreation programs
- community integration
- Physiotherapy walking and exercise programs
- Planning recreation programs
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- good interpersonal skills
- outgoing and confident to work within a team environment
- must be able to work with minimal supervision
- ability to self-motivate when training and orientation is complete
- strong organizational skills
- must be physically fit (i.e. lift or carry a specific weight; standing/walking on a constant basis; squatting/kneeling on a frequent basis; pushing wheelchairs required
- genuine interest in working with seniors
- mandatory “two-step” Mantoux TB skin test
