City Budget

Setting the budget is the most important decision Council makes. The budget is much more than dollars and cents. It directly impacts you through your services and it’s a tool to realize the community’s goals.

Long Term Financial Overview, 6:30 pm start.

Feb. 4, 2016

Public Pre-Budget Consultation Meeting at 55 Plus Centre (700 River Street), 6:30 pm, regarding the 2016 Proposed Capital and Operating Budget.

Feb. 9, 2016

Public Pre-Budget Deputation Meeting at City Hall, Council Chambers, 6:30 pm, regarding the 2016 Proposed Capital and Operating Budget.

  • Deputation request letters are not required, but those received by the Office of the City Clerk no later than Tuesday, Jan. 26 will be printed in the meeting agenda and will be heard prior to walk-in speakers.
  • Walk-in speakers are welcome and will be heard in the order of their arrival (a sign-in sheet will be available).
  • No Powerpoint presentations will be permitted.

Every two years, the City conducts a citizen survey to gather input about the services provided by the City. The data collected is used for budget considerations, to inform strategic planning, and to assist in evaluating the services provided to residents.
