Grants
The City of Thunder Bay offers a number of funding opportunities to qualified bodies, within specified criteria and guidelines.
Community & Cultural Funding
In December 2007, Thunder Bay City Council adopted a new model for
Community & Cultural Funding. This new funding model replaces both the Financial Assistance Review Grant and the Cultural Funding program. The Funding Program has three components: sustaining grants, operating grants and project grants. A detailed grant application process is in place and each application is evaluated based on a criteria rating system.
Event Development Grant
The
Event Development Grant supports not-for-profit groups with start up and/or bidding costs associated with hosting inaugural or one-time events that are regional, provincial, national or international in scope.
Medical Student Award
The City of Thunder Bay
Medical Student Award recognizes and rewards local students who are studying medicine in Canada and who plan to train as family physicians and return to Thunder Bay to practice upon the completion of their training. For 2009 there will be four awards of $5000. Applications must be received in full by June 15, 2009.
