Fort William Neighbourhood Renewal

Fort William Neighbourhood Renewal Program

A plan for the renewal of the South Core was approved by City Council in 2005. The plan was developed with extensive public input over a two-year period and a series of actions were identified to support the community in renewing the Fort William Neighbourhood. One action was to establish and operate an "Office of the Neighbourhood," to ensure communication and coordination among the City, citizens, organizations and business in revitalizing the neighbourhood. which opened in the late summer of 2006. This model for renewal is a 2 year experimental approach.

Through our online presence, we encourage conversation among citizens, the sharing of information and dialogue on ideas for the neighbourhood. We're proud to be the first website from the City of Thunder Bay to have an Interactive Comment Board to  assist in enhancing conversation about the new Fort William Neighbourhood.
