Rebate and Subsidy Program

The Graffiti Management Strategy provides a rebate for property and small business owners (with an assessment value less than $400,000) who have been targeted. A subsidy is also available to low-income seniors and people who have a disability.

Rebate Program

Property and small business owners (with an assessment value less than $400,000) are eligible for up to a $50 rebate to assist with purchasing removal products or hiring a company to remove graffiti.

Subsidy Program

The following individuals may be eligible for 100 per cent reimbursement of graffiti removal costs.

  • A low-income person with a disability must be in receipt of an increment paid under the Ontario Disability Support Program Act; a disability amount paid under the Canada Pension Plan; or a disability amount paid under the Family Benefits Act (Ontario).
  • A low income senior must be 65 years of age or older as of Dec. 31 of the year prior to the application year-end and is in receipt of benefits paid under the Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS), as established under the Old Age Security Act (Canada).

Applicants and their spouse (if applicable) must solely own and occupy, as a principle residence, the eligible property for a period of not less than one year immediately preceding the date of application for the rebate.
