March 31, 2010 – To celebrate Archives Awareness Week, the City of Thunder Bay Archives will be holding public tours from April 6-9, between 11 am and 2 pm. The community is invited to visit for a behind-the-scenes look at this institution and its work.
The tours will highlight how people lived and worked in Thunder Bay one hundred years ago, how techniques and tools to protect citizens from emergencies and disasters have changed over time, and a variety of historic documents and materials kept to safeguard knowledge for the future.
Items on display will include those highlighting the work of the fire departments and the Emergency Measures Organization, and some of the City’s oldest records.
