October 13, 2017 – Employees of the City of Thunder Bay, Superior North EMS (SNEMS) and the Thunder Bay Public Library (TBPL) proudly kicked off their 2017 United Way Employee Campaign today at a luncheon at the West Arthur Community Centre.

“I am delighted to see employees from across the Corporation come together to support the United Way and help launch our Annual Campaign,” said Kelly Robertson, General Manager – Community Services and Co-Chair of the Municipal Division United Way Campaign.

“Each year, our employees generously support and contribute to United Way, both through financial donations and volunteer hours,” Robertson continued. “The City always sets a high standard when it comes to supporting the United Way and this year will be no exception.”

The Municipal Division Employees’ United Way Campaign has raised more than $2,787,210
since its inception in 1996. The fundraising goal for 2017 is $196,500.

Municipal Employees contribute to the United Way Employee Campaign through payroll deductions, dress down days, various draws (WestJet Grand Prize Draw, 50/50 draws, Prize Raffles) and special events throughout the year including this year’s Kick-Off Luncheon, the Mayor’s Mulligan Golf Tournament, the Strong Block Event, and the Jeans & Jewels Christmas Party. Many thanks to municipal employees, United Way Thunder Bay, our event sponsors and prize donors for their support as we work together to help kids be all they can be, move people from poverty to possibility and build a stronger community.
