New City Solicitor Selected
Date: October 5, 2017

October 5, 2017 – Following an extensive search and hiring process, City Manager Norm Gale is pleased to announce Patty Robinet as the new City Solicitor.

Ms. Robinet, formerly the Deputy City Solicitor, has been working for the City since 2010. She received her law degree from the University of Windsor. After articling with the City of Windsor, and successful completion of her bar admissions exams, she was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2005.

"Patty brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the position,” said Gale. “She performed exceptionally well in all facets of the competition and in her Acting role to date. She will be an asset to the Executive Leadership Team.”

The City Solicitor & Corporate Counsel Office, comprised of the City Solicitor and the Legal Services Division, provides legal representation to the City of Thunder Bay, City Council, staff and related boards and agencies, on matters relating to the City's business and operations.

"For the past year, Dawne Latta has acted as the City Solicitor and has done terrific work in leading her team," added Gale. “I’d like to thank Ms. Latta for her commitment and passion for the job, and wish her the best in her return to private practice.”

The Legal Services Division also handles Corporate Risk Management for the City of Thunder Bay.
