Road Clearing Underway

April 1, 2009 – City crews have been working through the night plowing the main lines. The combination of snow that fell through yesterday and the rain falling this morning has resulted in very heavy snow that is difficult to push. The Roads Division expects to have all mainlines open by 9 am this morning, when plowing will move into residential areas. Driving conditions on residential streets vary depending on drifted snow. Sidewalks will take some time to clear due to the weight of the snow.

Residents can help by moving cars off roads to make it easier for plows to clear. Where possible, please adhere to Calendar Parking Restrictions. Limiting parking to the side of the road indicated by parking restriction signage, when in effect, will make snow removal more efficient.

As of 6 am, City Transit buses are operating on streets that have been cleared.
