Transit Fares to Increase

March 17, 2008 - For the first time in five years, Thunder Bay Transit will
increase its passenger fares on Tuesday, April 1.

The increases in fares and passes, which were approved in the City of Thunder
Bay's 2008 Operating Budget, are as follows:

The last fare increase occurred in 2003.  The objective of the fare increase
is to achieve a more equitable distribution of costs by having transit users
and taxpayers share the costs of operating the transit system.
