Youth Zone Hosts Third Annual Superior Youth Festival

June 23, 2009 - Youth Zone will host the Superior Youth Festival, the only youth music festival in Thunder Bay, on Saturday, June 27 from 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm, featuring a variety of bands, including local headliner Webster Death and national headliner Dead Celebrity Status.

The third annual event is free to all ages, and will be held at the Marina Park Bandshell stage. The community is encouraged to attend and support the musical talents of Thunder Bay’s youth.

“It’s exciting to see how the festival has developed over the years, and this is going to be our largest one yet,” said Jaclyn Moneypenny, the Youth Zone Director.

“This is the first year that we are collaborating  with the Thunder Bay Skateboard Coalition, and people from all areas of Thunder Bay’s youth community have come together to make this a great event.”

There will be games and other events running throughout the night, including sumo wrestling, rock climbing, and activities hosted by various community groups.  In addition, there will be booths set up by community organizations promoting and supporting youth culture.

This event is presented by Youth Zone and The City of Thunder Bay, and sponsored by The Chronicle Journal, Print Pros and Magic 99.  Youth Zone would like to give thanks to Audioworks, LU Radio, Static, Thunder Booking, Northern Rocks Magazine and Tbshows.com for their support in making this year’s Superior Youth Festival a grand success.
