Youth Zone Presents Second Annual Festival

August 5, 2008 – Youth Zone and The Chronicle Journal are pleased to once again present the Superior Youth Festival. Youth Zone's Superior Youth Festival is the only outdoor youth music event of this size in Thunder Bay. On Aug 7 from 5 pm – 10:30 pm there will be a variety of local youth bands as well as, headliner Ten Second Epic, from Edmonton, Alberta. Admission is free of charge. Come out to the festival stage at Prince Arthur¿s Landing at Marina Park and enjoy some great live music!

"We are really excited for the return of the festival. Thunder Bay has a unique youth community unlike any city I've ever seen," says Jaclyn Moneypenny, Youth Zone Director. "I think it is important that we celebrate that with a day of music, activities and the coming together of youth-focused community organizations. The youth musicians of this city are incredibly talented and they deserve a festival which highlights youth music and culture."

The line up for this event includes some of Thunder Bay's strongest bands and performers. Opening for headliner Ten Second Epic will be X's For Eyes, Twist of Fate, Empire Lies, Brett Cizmar, Exit West, Without the Glory and AVS.

"Music is a powerful vehicle for creative youth expression", says Myles Cizmar, Supervisor – Recreation & Culture Division." The Youth Zone Superior Youth Festival is a great performance venue for up and coming musicians to display their talents."

There will be games and other activities running throughout the day, including Giant Snakes & Ladders, Giant Jenga and Giant Twister! There are also many smaller activities provided by youth organizations from around the city. This event is presented by Youth Zone and The City of Thunder Bay in association with The Chronicle Journal and is sponsored by Print Pros, Audioworks, LU Radio, Creation Body Piercing, Static, Thunder Booking, Subway and Tbshows.com.
