Annual Report on Drinking Water Quality Issued

February 28, 2013 – The City of Thunder Bay is pleased to announce the release of the 2012 Drinking Water Quality Annual Report to consumers which summarize the results of the City’s water quality monitoring program and the operation of our water treatment plant facilities.

This report contains information about the City of Thunder Bay water distribution system, covering the period from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2012. 

Under the provisions of Ontario Regulation 170/03 all municipalities must ensure that a report is prepared and submitted to the Director of the Ministry of the Environment for each calendar year.

“The annual report details the test results from the more than 2,000 samples that are tested for potential contaminants each year by an independent laboratory,” said Kerri Marshall, Manager – Environment Division. “The testing program for the City of Thunder Bay meets all regulatory requirements.”

The Drinking Water Quality Annual Report 2012 is available online at  Print copies can be obtained at the City Clerk’s Office in City Hall, at all branches of Thunder Bay Public Libraries and at the Bare Point Water Treatment Plant.
