Call for Arts & Heritage Award Nominations Extended


November 9, 2012 – The City of Thunder Bay is calling for nominations for the third annual Thunder Bay Arts & Heritage Awards (formerly the Chronicle Journal Awards for Arts & Heritage). The nomination deadline has been extended to Friday, Nov. 23.

The Thunder Bay Arts & Heritage Awards recognize the contributions of individual artists, cultural organizations/groups, and businesses that have made significant achievements in or demonstrated support for the local cultural sector. Awards vary from cash prizes to original artwork by local artists.

Award Categories include:

• Visual Art
• Performing & Media Art
• Heritage
• Cultural Organization
• Emerging Youth Artist
• Cultural Educator
• Cultural Supporter
• Cultural Business
• Large / Small Business

Nominations will be accepted until 4:30 pm on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012. Awards will be presented at a special ceremony in December.
