City Golf Courses Introduce New Concession Operator


April 29, 2010 – The City of Thunder Bay has selected Salt & Pepper Catering to operate the food and beverage concessions at the three public golf courses.

“We are pleased to have Salt & Pepper Catering filling our concession needs,” said Tom Forsythe, Director of Golf. “This new partnership will enhance our ability to offer quality food and beverage services to individuals as well as groups wanting to book their corporate outings and tournaments with us.”

Salt & Pepper Catering is owned and operated by Dave Thomas, a Red Seal certified Chef who has worked as a Chef in Toronto and Sydney, Australia before coming back to Thunder Bay. He started his local catering business in April 2006, and has catered over 2,000 events since then. Salt & Pepper has developed a strong reputation for exceptional food and service in the City.

“Salt & Pepper is thrilled to be selected as the successful bid,” said Dave Thomas, Salt & Pepper Catering. “We are eager to get up and running at the City’s courses and look forward to providing golfers and clubhouse users with high quality food and beverage experience.”

Golf Thunder Bay and Salt & Pepper Catering have entered into a three-year contract. The Concessions are scheduled to open on Friday, April 30. The new concession operator will continue to provide beverage service on the golf courses.
