City Hall Sounds Wrapping Up for the Summer

August 28, 2013 – This summer’s final City Hall Sounds event will take place Thursday at McGillivray Square, in front of Thunder Bay City Hall, once again bringing live music, fresh food and other activities to Thunder Bay’s South Core.

“City Hall Sounds has been a tremendous success this summer,” said Amy Siciliano – Coordinator, Thunder Bay Crime Prevention Council. “Each week, the turnout has been fantastic, and the feedback we’ve received has been very positive.

“Vibrant, well-used public spaces are a key component in effective crime prevention. We’re excited to see City Hall Sounds so well-embraced by Thunder Bay’s citizens, and we’re currently determining the best way to move City Hall Sounds forward.”

City Hall Sounds, an initiative of the Crime Prevention Council’s Strong Neighbourhoods Working Group, has taken place during the lunch hour each Thursday in August as a pilot project.

Each event brings live music, arts and crafts, and local food and produce to McGillivray Square.

The final City Hall Sounds event of the summer – happening Thursday, August 29 from noon to 1 pm – will feature live music by Damon Dowbak, and the Galo and Cindy Loohoo’s food trucks will be on site.
