City Solicitor Will Take One-Year Sabbatical

November 21, 2011 - City Solicitor Rosalie Evans is taking a one-year sabbatical to advance her career with a focus on labour relations law, effective Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, City Manager Tim Commisso announced today.

During the sabbatical, Ms. Evans, City Solicitor since early 2003, will practice with the Thunder Bay firm of Weiler Maloney Nelson.

"At the City of Thunder Bay we are committed to being an employer of choice and supporting opportunities for staff to enhance their experience and skills," Commisso said. "In a complex field such as the law that can include gaining external experience. We wish Ms. Evans well during this developmental opportunity and look forward to her return in early 2013." 

City Council has been updated and the City Solicitor who will act during the sabbatical will be announced in the near future.
