Honouring those who defend us: Veterans Ride Transit for Free on Remembrance Day

November 7, 2012 – Thunder Bay Transit will be offering complimentary transit service to veterans, their immediate families, and the families of deceased veterans on Sunday, Nov. 11 to honour those who sacrificed so much for their country.

“To show our respect and gratitude, Transit is making it easier for survivors and families to attend Remembrance Day events,” said Jon Hendel, Planning & Marketing Analyst – Thunder Bay Transit.

Armed Forces members, Cadets, or other uniformed persons attending services and events may also ride Transit for the day without charge by identifying themselves to the Operator by showing their uniforms, medals, berets or blazers.

All Thunder Bay Transit passengers will experience two minutes of silence while traveling on Remembrance Day at 11 am. Buses will stop at the nearest bus stop for that time for a moment of reflection.
