Investigation Continues Into Death of Moose

August 29, 2013 – The City continues to investigate the cause of the death of the seven-year-old bull moose at the Chippewa Wildlife Exhibit this week.

The moose was found by staff at the zoo early Tuesday morning. It had died overnight Monday.

A post-mortem examination has been completed, although some tissue samples were extracted and sent to a laboratory in Guelph, Ont., for analysis.

Analysis of the tissue samples is expected to take seven to 10 days to complete. Further information will be released to the public when it becomes available.
