Mayors R Us Fundraising for Great Billboard Rescue

April 24, 2012 – A team of Mayors is hoping to raise a lot of money in the United Way’s Great Billboard Rescue.

Assembled by Councillor Ken Boshcoff, a former Mayor, the team also consists of Mayor Keith Hobbs and former Mayors Lynn Peterson and Jack Masters.

“We’re hoping to raise as much as possible for the United Way Community Fund,” Boshcoff said. “Never has there been a team of Mayors that have come together for a cause more important than this.”

Mayor Keith Hobbs is excited to fundraise for the United Way. “It’s such an important organization that helps thousands of people in Thunder Bay,” Mayor Hobbs said. The Mayor will raise funds but won’t participate in the Great Billboard Rescue because on May 17 he’ll be visiting one of Thunder Bay’s Sister Cities in Japan.

“It’s wonderful to see Thunder Bay’s leaders coming together to show support for the United Way and for the people of our community,” said Mike Thompson, President of United Way Thunder Bay.
“This will encourage lots of support for the Great Billboard Rescue.”

Anyone who wants to support Mayors R Us can contact Councillor Boshcoff at 473-8288 or kboshcoff@thunderbay.ca. Donations can also be made by visiting www.unitedway-tbay.on.ca/donate.htm and typing Mayors R Us in the comment section.
