Minimizing Impacts on Marina Operations

February 23, 2010 – As construction continues at Prince Arthur’s Landing, the City of Thunder Bay is making every effort to accommodate Marina contract holders for the 2010 season, and minimize impacts on Marina operations.

There will be changes and delays to this year’s operations that will affect all users of the Marina. Contract holders will receive a package this week outlining their 2010 Marina Docking Agreement, an option sheet for docking in 2010 and 2011, Marina Rules and Regulations, and the new dock configurations and dock assignments.

All boat owners who do not wish to dock their boat at the Marina in 2010 will receive a free season of boating in 2011, as we are having their 2010 dock assignment maintained.

Boat owners who wish to continue boating for the 2010 season must conform to some of the following provisions:

  • A reduced operating season
  • Possibility of temporary dock locations due to construction
  • Possible delays in water/electrical hook-up and interruptions throughout the season
  • Limited power supply of 30 amps
  • Residual effects (construction and equipment  traffic, noise, dust, inconvenience)
  • No boater vehicle access to any piers, and only one boater access pass per boat owner
  • Vehicle access changes

Marina contract holders are encouraged to review their information packages thoroughly before choosing their option, and return the appropriate forms to the Parks Division by April 1, 2010.
