Mining Strategy Information Session Available Online


September 17, 2012 – The Mining Readiness Strategy Information Session being held on Tuesday, Sept. 18 from 4 pm to 9 pm at the Italian Cultural Centre will be available online starting at 7 pm.

Interested residents can view the presentation and panel discussion on livestream starting at 7 pm.
The broadcast will air on the City’s website at  www.thunderbay.ca/cedcmining or on TBNewswatch at www.tbnewswatch.com.

The presentation will introduce the Mining Readiness Strategy, followed by a question and answer period with an expert panel.

In addition to the live streaming, the Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission (CEDC) will be accepting questions via Twitter using the hashtag #TBMRS. Use this hashtag to join the conversation and ask questions at any time.

The CEDC, together with the City of Thunder Bay and Fort William First Nation, are undertaking the Mining Readiness Strategy led by SNC-Lavalin Inc. and Ed Hoshizaki Development Consulting. The Consultants have been hired to engage communities and stakeholders to determine what will be required to develop mining opportunities. The study will address and strategically plan for economic growth in Thunder Bay and the region.
