Portion of Bluffs Trail Closed Until Monday

August 28, 2013 – The bottom of the bluffs trail, running from Bluffs Entrance Drive to the Hydro One Corridor, will be closed until Monday so it can be resurfaced.

Work on the trail began earlier this week with the addition of a granular stabilizing material, which takes some time to cure. As a result, this portion of the trail will remain closed to the public until Monday, as use of the trail prior to that could negatively affect the curing process.

The public may still access the trails running from the top of the bluffs to the hydro corridor, however there is no alternate trail at the bottom of the bluffs.

A second phase of trail resurfacing is scheduled to take place in September, when granular stabilizing material will be added to the section of trail that runs from the Hydro One Corridor to the Hydro Lookout and Centennial Park Chalet. That section of trail will then be closed for five days to allow the curing process to take place.

The exact date of the start of the second phase of resurfacing work has not yet been determined.
