Prince Arthur’s Landing Hosts Halloween Spooktacular

October 24, 2012 – The Baggage Building Arts Centre presents SPOOKTACULAR this Sunday, Oct. 28 from 1-5 pm at Prince Arthur’s Landing – a free, family event. Kids and adults are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes and celebrate while taking part in a variety of activities.

There will be plenty to spook you inside the Baggage Building Arts Centre.  Get freaked out by the Freaky Food Sculpture Showcase. Local artists have been working hard creating one-of-a-kind Halloween decorations made out of food-based materials. All sculptures will be purchasable through a silent auction, so be sure to place a bid for a unique decoration and support the local artists.

Take a walk through the Haunted Ghoulery if you dare or get inspired by the creative works of Judy Vinni and her co-creators at the Willow Springs Creative Centre. In addition, wander through the artisan market. Head upstairs for the Kid’s Arts and Craft Activities and get lost in the Enchanted Forest. Don’t miss the Halloween Puppet Show at 1:15 pm, followed by Story Time at 3:15 pm.

Halloween Games will begin outside on the empty Splash Pad at 1 pm, where the fire pits will be burning. Games will include Witches Says, Pumpkin Bowling, Mini Boot Hockey, Tug of War, a Mystery Pumpkin Dip, Sidewalk Chalk, and lots more. Kids can also participate in Spooky Sounds with an arrangement of hand-made instruments and objects.

Hot refreshments and popcorn will be available. The day will conclude with a Halloween Parade at 4:30 pm including all children in their Halloween costumes led by local bagpipers around Prince Arthur’s Landing.
