Public Survey on Council Compensation Available

February 7, 2008 - A survey seeking public input regarding the compensation of Members of City Council was released today.

The survey is available online at www.thunderbay.ca/compensationsurvey (no longer available) and a printed version will appear in the February/March edition of the YourCity Newsletter to the Citizens of Thunder Bay, which will be delivered to Chronicle-Journal subscribers Saturday, Feb. 9 and to non-subscribers Sunday, Feb. 10.  Residents are asked to complete the survey by March 7.

A Remuneration Committee has been established to review the compensation payable to Members of Council. The Committee is made up of seven citizen members, including two members each from the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce and the Canadian Labour Congress. Those two organizations selected the remaining three members. Completed surveys will be considered by the Remuneration Committee and summarized for a report to Council.
