Road Work Ahead

August 21, 2008 – Construction projects in Thunder Bay can result in road closures, detours and delays for drivers. Watch for signage and please drive with extra care in construction zones.

The following areas are scheduled for road and other major infrastructure work expected to affect traffic during the period from Aug 21 – Sept 19, 2008. Funding for these projects is provided by the City's Capital Budget. Some of this year's construction projects, including road and bridge work, are being funded through the Canada-Ontario Municipal Rural Infrastructure Fund (COMRIF) and the Federal Gas Tax Program and Provincial Municipal Infrastructure Investment Initiative. With the COMRIF program, Federal and Provincial governments each contributed one-third of the cost of eligible projects and the City of Thunder Bay contributed the remainder.
