Scheduled Transit Fare Change to Begin April 1

March 18, 2013 – A scheduled fare change for Thunder Bay Transit will take effect on Monday, April 1, 2013. The exact cash fare will increase from $2.60 to $2.65.

The scheduled increase is part of Thunder Bay Transit’s Fare Strategy. This plan was approved in the City of Thunder Bay’s 2013 Operating Budget.

Facts about Thunder Bay Transit’s Conventional Service:

  • Fares make up 35% of operating costs.
  • In 2012, 3.6 million rides were taken, reducing vehicles and maintenance on roads.
  • With new fuel saving technologies, Transit has seen a 12% reduction in fuel consumption.

All Thunder Bay Transit fares are now available to HAGI Transit customers. Thunder Bay Transit bus passes are valid for HAGI Transit.
