Suspicious Cumming Street Fire Remains Under Investigation

February 19, 2013 – The investigation continues into the cause of a large blaze which consumed much of a nine-unit apartment building at 145 Cumming Street in Thunder Bay.

Early Sunday morning, emergency responders were notified of a large fire in this vacant apartment building. This fire is highly suspicious in nature due to the fact that it occurred in a building which was vacant, secured from unintended access and under reconstruction from a previous fire. No known ignition sources were located in the building. The fire scene investigation is now complete and Thunder Bay Police will continue to pursue information relating to the cause of this fire.

Fire Chief John Hay asks any members of the public with information related to this fire to contact Thunder Bay Fire Rescue or Thunder Bay Police.
