Winter at Prince Arthur's Landing


December 9, 2012 – With the opening of the skating rink at Prince Arthur’s Landing, the City of Thunder Bay is encouraging residents to come down to the waterfront and enjoy the many activities and facilities that are now available to the public.

“Now that the skating rink is open, we want the community to make Prince Arthur’s Landing at Marina Park their destination this winter and experience the magic of a true winter wonderland,” said Kathy Ball, Operations Coordinator at Marina Park.

“There are plenty of things to do down here, and now residents can enjoy a wonderful meal, or snack while they enjoy the majestic natural surroundings of Thunder Bay’s waterfront.”

Opening today and located in the Water Garden Pavilion, bight Restaurant & Bar offers a full-service, fully-licensed establishment. Hours are as follows:

  • Sun. & Mon. 11:30 - 10 pm
  • Tues. & Wed. 11:30 - 11 pm
  • Thurs., Fri., Sat. 11:30 - 1 am

A concession service, scheduled to open this weekend, will also be available that will provide park goers with quick-service options while they utilize the many outdoor attractions and walking paths.

The skating rink and Water Garden Pavilion are open every day from 12 noon to 9 pm until March.

The Baggage Building Arts Centre also offers a variety of free and registered activities, a Gift Gallery with a selection of items made by local artists and artisans, seasonal and community events, as well as monthly exhibits from the artist in residence on the main floor. Hours are Tues. – Fri., 11 am - 5 pm and weekends, 12 pm - 4 pm.
