Corporate Report

Resolution to Corporate Report 2006.019
THAT with respect to Report 2006.019 (Community Services) we recommend that the final report from O & Y Enterprise on the Highest and Best Use Study for Marina Park be received;

AND THAT Administration be directed to proceed with the development of Marina Park in the form of an economically and environmentally sustainable mixed use area as presented in the Highest and Best Use Study;

AND THAT Official Plan and Zoning Amendments be prepared to support the general form of development in Marina Park as presented in the Highest and Best Use Study;

AND THAT Administration be directed to work with the Waterfront Advisory Committee to engage public discussion relative to the preparation of an overall theme for the Park and guidelines to prescribe to the form of all new development within the Park including buildings, landscape, signage and any other area that may be relevant and report back to City Council by September 30, 2006;

AND THAT a report be presented to City Council prior to July 1, 2006 on the structure, costs and operating parameters of a Waterfront Development Corporation to oversee the future development and operation of Marina Park;

AND THAT the identified 2006 construction projects proceed in priority order, as presented in the memorandum, dated January 25, 2006, in accordance with the level of funding established by City Council;

AND THAT Administration be directed to prepare applications to senior levels of government for any approvals required and to secure partnership funding;

AND THAT Administration begin the process of soliciting support and investment from the private sector for projects identified in the Highest and Best Use Study;

AND THAT any necessary by-laws be presented to City Council for ratification.
