Councillor Andrew Foulds Res: (807) 766-9914 |
| Hello, my name is Andrew Foulds, and I am honoured to serve you as Councillor for the Current River Ward. I want to put my passion for Thunder Bay and my leadership experience in teaching and sports to work for the residents of the Current River Ward and the City as a whole. I currently teach at Hillcrest High School. From 2002-2007 I was on the teaching staff at the now closed Port Arthur Collegiate Institute, the school I graduated from as an Ontario Scholar in 1991. Prior to joining P.A.C.I., I taught at Hammarskjold High School for four years following a year of teaching in Arctic Bay Nunavut (where I was also the Deputy Fire Chief!). I gained leadership experience with the Teacher's Federation and at P.A.C.I, where I chaired the Literacy Committee, was Chair of the Science department, and started a new breakfast program to improve nutrition and students- performance. The eldest son of Jim and Judy Foulds, I was born in 1972 at the Port Arthur General Hospital. I hold an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Physical and Environmental Geography from the University of Toronto (1996) and a Bachelor of Education degree from Queen's University (1997). From an early age, I have been passionate about sports including soccer, baseball and, most especially, swimming. My longstanding involvement in swimming took me to provincial, national and international championships. I continue to be actively involved in recreation activities. I am married to fellow teacher Kristine Hilden. We have three wonderful sons, Alex, Luke and Matthew.
