Larry Hebert, Councillor At Large, has put many years of leadership experience and community involvement to work in Thunder Bay.

He has a strong background in organizational leadership and management. For over 20 years, he served as the General Manager of Thunder Bay Hydro before retiring in 2004 after 29 years with the organization. He is currently President of Genotran Consulting which specializes in Energy and Human Resources issues. Examples of his work in this sector include writing the Northern Ontario Municipal Association's Draft Energy Policy Paper. In 2004, he was elected to Tbaytel's inaugural Board of Directors on which he served until his election to Council.

Outside of the business environment, Councillor Hebert is very involved in Thunder Bay's sports and service communities. He is President of the Thunder Bay International Baseball Association and served on the Thunder Bay Sports Bid Advisory Committee for four years, after serving a period as Chair. As baseball is definitely a passion, he has been a Little League coach and umpire for 31 years and has been proudly involved with Lakehead University Sports and Alumni for 42 years. He was also the Chair of the World Junior Baseball Tournament 2010 and President since 2003 of the Thunder Bay International Baseball Association, the host organization.

Away from the baseball diamond, Councillor Hebert is also very involved in many community activities, charities and events such as the Salvation Army and Pee Wee Hockey. He is an active member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, a 28-year Shriner and a 30-plus year member of the Masons.

Councillor Hebert is married and has two children and three grandchildren.
