Councillor Mark Bentz Res: (807) 577-8226 |
Mark Bentz, Councillor for the Northwood Ward, is serving his third term on City Council.
Councillor Bentz decided to serve the citizens of Thunder Bay because he believes that the City can become the progressive leader that it once was. His vision is to see Thunder Bay become both a regional and national leader in economic development and diversification. This will involve attracting new business, supporting existing business and renewing our infrastructure. He says he firmly believes that a strong economic foundation is a necessity for the quality of life that we all desire and will allow us to provide the necessary social "safety net" to those who are less fortunate.
His careers have allowed him to work all over the world, and Councillor Bentz believes that Thunder Bay has vast potential and can compete with the best and thrive if the right decisions are made regarding its future. He believes that as a community we must work together to capitalize on the many advantages Thunder Bay possesses. He welcomes any comments or suggestions citizens may have regarding how we can move forward together - our success truly depends on the involvement of the entire community.
Councillor Bentz has an H.B.Sc degree in physics, and careers that have spanned research and development, engineering, marketing and teaching. He is currently a high school math and science teacher with the Lakehead Board of Education, and has two sons - Daniel and Erik.
