p.r.o. Kids

Recreation and social interaction are critical to a child’s development. The opportunity to lead, be part of a team or learn a new skill as a child or youth can have an extremely significant impact on a person's life.

Unfortunately, not all children have this opportunity. This is where Positive Recreation Opportunities for Kids comes in.

P.R.O. Kids is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to helping economically disadvantaged children and youth access community recreation activities. Since it was established in 1998, P.R.O. Kids has made nearly 14,000 placements of children into recreational activities in Thunder Bay. Each experience provides the opportunity for youth to develop into positive, contributing members of our community as they learn new skills, teamwork and cooperation. The sense of pride in their abilities leads to a sense of achievement and self-confidence.

P.R.O. Kids is dedicated to bringing recreation activities to economically disadvantaged children and youth up to the age of 18 years. To see if you or your child meets the criteria, please visit the Apply section.
