Supersports Banner

Supersports offers clinics for children aged 8-13. Our trained leaders provide skill development to the experienced and inexperienced athlete in a fun and safe environment! For more information on clinics, call 625-2350 or email playgrounds@thunderbay.ca.

Junior Inclusion Services (J.I.S.)

In order to provide the best experience for children with Special Needs, we require you to register your child with our program by calling 625-2954.

How to Register for Supersports

To register by phone, call 625-8463.

To register in person, visit the Canada Games Complex, Victoriaville Civic Centre, Thunder Bay 55 Plus Centre, Volunteer Pool, or Sir Winston Churchill Community Pool. Payment is accepted by cash, debit, Visa or Mastercard.

Registration must be completed by 4:30 pm the day prior to the clinic. Limited space available.

SuperSports Schedule

Dodgeball - July 5 (ages 8-13)
Delaney Arena
Course Code: 236288, Cost: $25
Participants will learn a variety of dodgeball games including Medic, King's Court and skilltles.  They will also participate in the "Average Joe's Dodgeball Tournament".

Sports Sampler - July 6 & 7 (ages 8-13)
Delaney Arena

A little bit of everything;
Baseball, Soccer, Track Events, Flag Football and Ultimate Frisbee.
*Please bring a baseball glove, may wear cleats/shin pads but they are not required.

Survivor Day - July 12 & 13 (ages 8-13)
Centennial Park
Course Code: 236291, Cost: $50
Participants will work as a team to complete challenges and survive the clinic. All participants need to dress for the weather.

Goalball - July 19 (ages 8-13)
Ogden C.C
Course Code: 236292, Cost: $25
Join members of the Thunder Bay Goalball League for a day of fun!  Learn to play this sport that involves blindfolds and a ball with bells in it.  Please bring indoor shoes.  All other equipment will be provided.

NCAA Basketball - July 19 (ages 8-13)
Ogden CC
Course Code: 236294, Cost: $25
Participants will develop shooting, passing and dribbling skills and then compete in the NCAA tournament.

Lacrosse - July 20 & 21 (ages 8-13)
Delaney Arena
Course Code: 236295, Cost: $50
Learn the basics of Lacrosse. Passing, shooting and teamwork will be emphasized. All participants must provide own helmet with faceshield and hockey gloves. Limited sticks will be provided.

Stanley Cup, Floor Hockey - July 26 (ages 8-13)
Delaney Arena
Course Code: 236296, Cost: $25
Participants will develop their shooting, stick handling and passing skills. Teamwork will be emphasized. All participants are required to provide their own helmet with faceshield, hockey gloves and hockey stick.

Baseball - July 27 & 28 (ages 8-13)

Participants will focus on batting, catching and throwing skills. All participants must bring a baseball glove.

Survivor Challenge- Aug 2 & 3 (ages 8-13)

Participants will work as a team to complete challenges and survive the clinic.  All participants need to dress for the weather.

World Cup Soccer - August 16 & 17 (ages 8-13)

Brazil, Argentina, Italy and France challenge each other for the title of World Cup Champions!

Sports Spectacular- August 18 (ages 8-13)

ANSWERS TO FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS about SUPERSPORTS:

What does my child bring to the clinic?
Children are required to wear appropriate athletic clothing, including athletic footwear, a hat and sunscreen. Be sure to bring plenty of water/juice, snacks and a healthy, NUT SAFE lunch.

What if it rains?
In case of rain, "Survivor Day” and "Survivor Challenge" will be cancelled (Parents will be contacted). For all other clinics, we will move indoors.

What are the drop off and pick up times for the Clinics:
The drop-off time for all clinics is 9:30 to 9:45 am.
The pick-up time is 3:45 to 4 pm.

Is staff trained?
All staff is trained in First Aid and the High Five quality assurance program. High Five supports the healthy development of children in recreation and sport.Our leaders are skilled and accomplished athletes with many years of experience in sports and supervision.
