A favourite with families, the instructional skating program provides a structured approach to learning and improving skating skills for children.
Fall programming is currently underway. Watch for the Winter issue of The Key for upcoming skating programs that begin in January.
The next parent information night for Winter programs will take place on Wednesday, January 9 at 7:00 pm at Oliver Road Community Centre. This is for parents new to the skating programs and will cover topics such as program formats, progress reports, equipment, questions and answers.
Lace-up single-blade skates must be sharpened prior to the first class. For safety, CSA-approved hockey helmets with chin strap and full face masks are mandatory. Bicycle helmets are not permitted. No shoes or boots are allowed on the ice. Parents or guardians must remain in the arena while lessons are in progress.
If you are registering for a skating program, have a disability, and could use some extra help in the program, please let us know when you register. Inclusion Services is available to provide limited support to you free of charge. Call 625-3220 for more information.
