Superior North EMS is the Designated Delivery Agent for the District of Thunder Bay. Operating under the auspices of the City of Thunder Bay, Superior North EMS provides paramedic services to over 160,000 people, 25,000 times per year. The district is divided in two regions, Western and Eastern. The Western Region is comprised of The City of Thunder Bay, Upsala, Conmee, Shuniah, and Armstrong. The communities of Nipigon, Red Rock, Beardmore, Geraldton, Nakina, Longlac, Manitouwadge, Marathon, Terrace Bay, and Schreiber form the Eastern Region. The organization has over 170 dedicated full and part-time paramedics and support staff operating out of headquarters and 17 stations, and a fleet of 49 vehicles which includes two Paramedic Response Units in Thunder Bay and three Emergency Support Units posted in Geraldton, Marathon and Thunder Bay.
