Best Block award 

The Best City Block Award/Beautify Thunder Bay competition is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Westfort in conjunction with the Parks Division, to promote the beautification of our city and to encourage neighbourhood pride.

Clean, green & Beautiful awards 

The Clean, Green & Beautiful Awards recognize building and renovation projects that enrich the life of the community through public art, beautification, heritage and environmental greening.

Official Recognition

The Official Recognition Committee for Citizens of Exceptional Achievement considers applications for awards in three categories: culture, public service and sports. Nominations are made through the Office of the City Clerk.

Municipal Green Award

The City of Thunder Bay and the Zero Waste Action Team (ZWAT) award the Municipal Green Award to recognize waste reduction initiatives of individuals, businesses or organizations in Thunder Bay. Participants set a specific goal to reduce, reuse, recycle or divert waste within the community, business or as an organization. The goal is to be fulfilled within one year and the waste reduction strategy must be documented. Applications for reduction strategies from previous years will also be considered (2004-present). Applications can be downloaded from the ZWAT website at www.zwat.ca. Applications are due by the first Monday in May.
