100% of Thunder Bay Transit's buses have access features that make boarding and riding easier for those with disabilities or the elderly. The fleet's low floor fully accessible buses accommodate wheelchairs.

Inclusion Services and Junior Inclusion Services

The Recreation & Culture Division encourages people of all abilities and skills to take part in the City's recreation programs. Inclusion Services provides limited free facilitation to adults with disabilities who use our programs and facilities. more

Junior Inclusion Services offers a similar service to year round and summer Recreation & Culture programs for children and youth. Please contact us to find out how we can support you in having a successful experience in our Recreation and Culture programs and facilities.  more

lift+

Lift+ is a door-to-door specialized public transportation service, which might be for City of Thunder Bay residents who, due to a disability, are unable to use the accessible, conventional bus service for all or part of the trip. more


Homemaking Services

Limited homemaking services are provided when required in homes throughout the City of Thunder Bay where there is a need related illness, crisis situations, or emergency care is required. Medical certification must be provided. All applicants must first apply to the Community Care Access Centre.
