Elections

electionsElections are held every four years in November for the positions of Mayor and twelve Councillors for City Council, and Board of Education Trustees. The most recent election was on Oct. 25, 2010. The City Clerk is the Returning Officer. Election notices are issued to the public through newspaper and other formats prior to the Election. Each voter receives a notice stating which Ward he or she is voting in and where voting will take place. Advance polls allow for greater access to the Election process for all citizens.

Candidates for Office

Anyone wishing to run for office for the City or Boards of Education can receive information and forms from the Office of the City Clerk.

Election Signs

No campaign literature signs or posters shall be erected or affixed on City property including boulevards, property of Thunder Bay Hydro, TBayTel, or any tree on City property.
