Elections are held every four years in October for the positions of Mayor and 12 Councillors for City Council, as well as Board of Education Trustees.

The most recent election was held on Oct. 27, 2014.  The next municipal election is scheduled for the 4th Monday in October, Oct. 22, 2018.  The City Clerk is the Returning Officer. Election notices are issued to the public through newspaper and other formats prior to the Election. Each voter receives a notice stating which Ward he or she is voting in and where voting will take place. Advance polls allow for greater access to the Election process for all citizens.
