Engineering
The Engineering Division is responsible for the planning, design, asset management and construction supervision of roads, bridges, storm drainage systems, sanitary sewage collection and treatment, water supply treatment and distribution, landfill, traffic control systems and street lighting.
The Division acts as project manager for major capital works and investigates traffic safety by completing surveys and studies and responding to signage requests. It also administers driveway applications, heavy load restrictions and street closures, and oversees subdivision and commercial development servicing along with production of Engineering and Development Standards. During the construction season Engineering regularly reports on road work ahead.
