Recreation

Boy kicking soccer ball - photo by Scott ChisholmThe Recreation & Culture Division offers a vast array of opportunities to residents such as Summer in the Parks, neighbourhood recreation programs, playgrounds, skating, swimming, senior centres and much more.

The Key is distributed to all households four times a year and lists recreational and educational programs and opportunities in the city for each season, including the programs of Recreation & Culture.

People of all abilities and skills are encouraged to take part in the city's recreation programs. Inclusion and Junior Inclusion Services provide year-round support services to people with disabilities who need assistance to participants in City of Thunder Bay recreation and culture activities and facilities. The PAL Card is available to people with disabilities who use City of Thunder Bay recreation and culture programs and facilities and enables them to get their support person in free of charge. The P.R.O. Kids program matches youth and children in need with community-based recreational activities.
