Road & Sidewalk Maintenance

Roads1The City's Roads Division maintains, inspects and carries out regular maintenance activities on roads and bridges, traffic control signage/marking systems and drainage works within City boundaries to provide a safe, efficient and reliable transportation system.

Programs include bridge repairs and rehabilitation, paved road surface repairs, drainage works maintenance, driveway culverts, gravel road maintenance, shoulder maintenance, rear gravel lane grading, roadside vegetation control, safety device maintenance, signage maintenance and installation, traffic control painted road markings, sidewalk repairs and replacement, sidewalk accessibility upgrades, street cleaning, business core maintenance cleaning (May to October), arterial road weekly maintenance cleaning (Summer), winter maintenance and snow removal operations.

The Roads Division is also responsible for the Solid Waste & Recycling Facility Operations, Waste & Recycling Collection along with Traffic Control & Street Lighting.
