Sewers1The City's sewer operation services include catch basin installation/maintenance and sewer maintenance. Catch basins are cleaned to keep winter control sand and debris from plugging sewers. The City repairs and maintains about 787 kilometres of storm, sanitary and combined sewers as well as the portion of 34,000 house, storm and sanitary connections that lie beneath road allowances. Sewer locations are provided to excavating contractors and utilities. For sewer trouble, call one of the numbers below.

Sewer Use Control

The Sewer Use Control Program regulates the discharge of waste to the sanitary/storm collection system to ensure that pollutants do not enter the rivers or lakes. For more information, or to report a potential problem, call the Water Pollution Control Plant.
