In the absence of membership fees, the Thunder Bay 55 Plus Centre Board’s Fundraising Committee hosts a variety of events throughout the year. Some of the monies raised are used to help offset the Centre’s annual operating costs. The Board of Directors is committed to quality programs, services and opportunities for those 55 plus in the community.
CANADIAN TIRE MONEY
We are now collecting Canadian Tire money which will be used to support our special events.
HUSKY REBATE PROGRAM
You can support the Thunder Bay 55 Plus Centre when you purchase gas at Husky or Mohawk Gas Stations. Present a rebate card when you make your purchase and two per cent of the value of your purchase is rebated to the Thunder Bay 55 Plus Centre. Free Husky rebate cards are available at the Centre's Gift Shop.
QUALITY MARKET SALES RECEIPTS
When you purchase groceries at Quality Market, think of the Thunder Bay 55 Plus Centre. Simply save your grocery receipts and when you visit the Centre drop off your Quality Market receipts in the box in the main entrance foyer. For every $450 in receipts, the Centre receives $1.
ENDOWMENT FUND
In addition to general fundraising, the Centre has established an Endowment Fund to which all citizens may contribute. The goal of this fund is to raise money to reduce the cost of operating the Centre to the City taxpayer. There are many ways to contribute to the Endowment Fund – memorial donations, Friends of the Centre Wall, Donation Tree and general donations.
- Income tax receipts are provided for donations made to the Centre -
