Joan Krisko’s passion for volunteer work began when she was in High School, when she played the organ for Sunday Morning Liturgies at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Joan says she has been blessed with the opportunity to play organ/piano and to direct many choirs. At present, she is the choir director at St. Andrew’s Parish. Joan is also the director of Interlink Choir, where 25 seniors are buddied with Students in a Grade 5 class. Joan is the current president of the Thunder Bay Rotary Club (Fort William). She has also served as choir director, pianist for the 100 year Rotary Convention and manager of ticket sales for the Rotary House Draw. Joan is an active volunteer with Children’s Aid Society, Thunder Bay Health Unit Flu Clinic, and Lung Association. She is a former volunteer for Grandview Lodge and the Catholic Action Store. After retiring from 32 years of teaching, Joan has continued to volunteer at Bishop Gallagher Senior Elementary School, St. Bernard, St. Margaret, Holy Cross, St. Vincent, Sacred Heart and St. Ann Schools. She has lived a life of service and commitment to the community and the many organizations she has served.
