For almost 15 years, Lynn O’Neil has made outstanding volunteer contributions in Thunder Bay. She has been an exemplary volunteer with the Victims Crisis Assistance and Referral Service which provides free, immediate, on-site assistance to victims of crime from Thunder Bay to Lake Helen. Lynn’s achievements are outstanding due to the nature of the volunteer work she does and the time she commits to volunteering. She voluntarily completed screening and over 40 hours of initial training to become a certified VCARS volunteer. She has continued as a Direct Service Volunteer, supporting victims of property crime, sudden death, assault, domestic violence and elder abuse. She inspires her fellow volunteers as she is reliable, well organized, an excellent communicator, a peer motivator and an excellent problem solver. Lynn has also volunteered locally for 12 years as a Girl Guide and Brownie Leader for Girl Guides of Canada where she has challenged girls in their personal growth and empowered them in their development as responsible citizens. She has also volunteered for the Lakehead Public Schools.

Lynn is an exceptional role model for volunteers and for the citizens of Thunder Bay.
