PEARL DICKS

Pearl Dicks has been volunteering at Pinewood Court since the home opened in 1968. She began her volunteering experience by starting a chapel service in which she assisted with communion and prayed with the rosary once a week to the residents. She also assisted the program staff with taking residents swimming to Churchill Pool, helped with shopping, picnics and anywhere else that she was called upon to assist. In 1988 Pearl relocated to B.C. for 11 years where she continued to do the same good work. In 1999, Pearl and her family returned to Thunder Bay and fortunately came back to volunteering at Pinewood Court. She stepped back into assisting the St. Agnes Church R.C. Communion Services, along with helping out at the monthly pub parties, community outings and the sharing of her Lord with the elderly. Her volunteer commitment, dedication and compassion to the residents of Pinewood Court have been remarkable.
