Patricia Vieira

Patricia Vieira, at the age of 30, started her Judo training with the Thunder Bay Judo Dojo in 1987. After seven years of diligent training and competing in tournaments, she achieved her 1st degree black belt. In 2002 Patricia earned her 2nd degree black belt and in 2008 she earned her 3rd degree black belt.

Patricia holds the rank of Provincial "C" referee and has earned level 2 in the Coaching Certification Program. As a volunteer with the Thunder Bay Judo Dojo she works and trains junior students twice weekly. She has also assisted in delivering programs in Judo for several organizations including the Thunder Bay Boys and Girls Club, Big Brothers-Big Sisters, high school physical education programs, and Lakehead University 3rd and 4th year Kinesiology students. For over 20 years she has participated in numerous Judo demonstrations both in and out of town. She has also been instrumental in running the annual Judo Tournaments over the years. If that is not enough, Patricia is also the fundraising Chair for the Club.

Patricia is and continues to be a driving force in the Thunder Bay Judo Dojo. She is a positive role model for all members of the club, particularly the girls. Patricia is perhaps the fittest grandmother in all of Thunder Bay. Her personal dedication to Judo and to the promotion of Judo is an inspiration to us all.
